A major rework of an inner city multi family apartment.

REVAMP REVOLUTION - Feature Article

There's a new trend in residential development which is revolutionizing the local apartment market.  Instead of repetitive ideas that have worked in the past, designer-driven revamps ANTICIPATE market directions.

Husband and wife team John and Julie are enthusiastic exponents of this trend.  They have just completed a redevelopment and major renovation and extension of what was an uninspiring block of 1960's salmon-coloured brick multifamily apartments.

The L - shaped block has now been stucco’d, extended with large private outdoor decks for each apartment, and fitted with the latest interior finishes and Smeg appliances. With its chocolate brown and white exterior and metal and timber trims, the apartment complex is a striking departure from the standard patch up and paint job ‘flip’.

"We do our own renovations and extensions because we know what we want to do and what we think will work for the market at the time" Julie said.  "People were very unsure about the metal but that is a trend that had really taken off elsewhere, and we expect it will become more common here as people see what can be done."

“We've completed major projects on many single residential houses, condo’s, various sized multifamily apartments, multifamily town homes and we've just bought another multifamily apartment for major renovation," Julie said.

Their activities haven't gone unnoticed.

"We do a lot of research so you do tend to read the market when you’re actually out there day to day," Julie said.

So far their self belief has paid off.
